Purpose of Position

The Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for working with their resident Site Leaders to optimize available run time of the production line(s) by directly maintaining and repairing equipment. Planning duties include planning and coordinating repairs and preventative maintenance. Administrative responsibilities and duties include operating procedures, budgeting, procurement, analyses and reporting, training of Maintenance Leads and maintenance lead performance feedback. Travel to other locations is required for regional coverage and advanced technical maintenance support.

Essential Functions: (Maintenance Duties)

  • Develop strong working relationship with Site Leaders and functional leads and mutably commit to the ownership and responsibility of the production equipment.
  • Participate in morning planning meetings with the Site Leadership Team.
  • Execute maintenance needs of the site to assist in optimizing available run time.
  • Become the mechanical expert and advise the best operating practice.
  • Understand each piece of equipment and maintain critical spare parts.
  • Conducts all maintenance work to the highest of TRI environmental, health, and safety standards.


  • Experience with project management--Specifically related to new equipment installation.
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and experience participating in PM program.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
  • Must be a team player with a positive outlook.
  • Must be able to travel, as much as 20% as needed, and be flexible with scheduling.
  • Creative problem solving skills to perform equipment improvements to optimize production safety, quality, cost, and service.
  • Approachable, respectful, and prompt communication for role within department.
  • Possess understanding of electricity, electrical systems, electrical motor control systems, mechanical systems, and process control instrumentation, and / or demonstrate aptitude for learning any of these areas.
  • Have awareness and progressive leadership attitude towards health and safety.
